How we can help

Energy Hub Events

The Energy Hub runs events to share best practice and address barriers to the development of local energy projects. A selection of recent events is available here.

Financing Energy

The purpose of this event was to address one of the challenges to local energy project development – finance. The agenda and presentations from the event are shared here.

The event explored successful approaches taken by local authorities who secured development and capital project finance and heard from a range of private finance companies with a track record of investment in public and community projects. Group ‘surgery’ sessions enabled participants to share their challenges and seek advice from leaders in project development and investment.

We’d encourage project developers to consider alternative options for financing such as those highlighted by this event, as well as the more traditional funding sources. Further information is available on the Funding and Investment page of this website. Or if you’d like advice about financing for your local energy project, please contact us info@energyhub.org.uk

Electric Vehicles – Enterprise M3 Local Workshop

A workshop in the Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership area, brought together project developers, network operators and the supply chain. The event was designed for local authorities planning and developing EV charging and infrastructure projects that have encountered barriers such as funding and grid constraints.

The event was supported by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks and National Grid, along with installers and best practice local authorities to share experiences and develop solutions.
